The Bombay Chartered Accountants’ Society (BCAS) is one of the largest and oldest independent and voluntary bodies of Chartered Accountants in India. With membership & subscribers exceeding 11,500 and a widespread presence across 400+ cities and towns in India, BCAS has been unwavering in its commitment towards the development of the profession since its inception in 1949.

BCAS’s core mission is to provide its members with extensive opportunities for growth and advancement through a multifaceted approach to learning. Seminars, workshops, residential refresher courses, study circles, lecture meetings and distance learning programs provide over 5,00,000 hours of education annually, enabling members to enhance their skills and stay updated on industry trends, a testament to BCAS’s pioneering spirit in this domain.

BCAS also has an exceptional track record in various publications, prominently showcased by the BCA Journal (BCAJ), a sought-after monthly periodical with over five decades of publication. BCAS also publishes the Referencer along with an easily readable e-book which is an indispensable tool for practising professionals as well as those in the industry since last 60 years.

BCAS’s extensive outreach towards nation building is bolstered by its detailed representations to regulators and government authorities. A key focus area is exploring collaborations with academic institutions, as well as trade, industry, and professional associations both within India and globally. These partnerships are facilitated through research and think tank initiatives on contemporary issues and policy-level projects, either independently or with relevant organizations.

Additionally, BCAS ensures timely advocacy and representations on current policy and regulatory matters while maintaining consistent communication with government and regulatory bodies. BCAS operates as a not-for-profit organization, relying on the efforts of hundreds of dedicated volunteers who selflessly contribute their time and expertise while adhering to the highest ethical standards and professional integrity.

The BCAS Foundation is the social wing of the Bombay Chartered Accountants’ Society. It was formed with the principal agenda to support various public charitable purposes such as relief to the poor, education, medical relief, rural development, tree plantation and other causes of general public utility.
